Powder measure won't clamp tight to Powder die

Have a SDB that's probably 2000 to 2007 vintage ( I got it in 2008, used from a guy). The powder measure on a new 380ACP set will not clamp tight to the powder die. I measured three powder die ring OD's (the ring on the powder die where the clamp collar fits), and they all measure different: the 40 cal - 0.636", 9mm - 0.631", and the new 380 ACP is 0.625". The 40 is tight (powder measure won't turn), the 9mm is loose (turns some), the 380 is sloppy loose and will not throw a consistent charge at all. I have to use a pretty big shim under the clamp to get it to clamp tight the measure right, and then it will throw a consistent charge. Why would there be so much variance in the powder die dimensions? Dillon sent me a new collar clamp a few years back for the 9 mm die issue, but that didn't fix that one either.

Thanks,

dc

The powder dies are turned on a cnc screw machine. Please send us an email, request a replacement SDB powder die, and include your address.

I received a new powder die. Exact same issue. IThe groove measures 0.625" and the collar clamp will not hold the powder measure down tight enough to the powder die and it will not charge consistently. Dillon is sending a new SDB collar body assembly (the threads stripped out, probably tightened to tight). We'll see.

Thanks,

dc

FWIW: none of my SDB's powder measures clamp tightly to powder die (I have four and have worked with 3 others and theirs don't tighten either). Also have mult powder measures that are just like the ones on the machines.

Been like that from when they were brand new
