Powder Measures new vs Old
Quote from Reloader on April 9, 2015, 1:24 pmI have been considering purchasing another powder measure and came across a comment from a seller on ebay.
He was selling the "old" type measure, with two springs for more than Dillon is asking a new measure of the new design.
When I asked him how he could justify the price he said he has had a lot of comments that the old style is better than the new design.
I just dug out my original sales receipt from Dillon for my 550B press.
Dated October 1991.I would think that the main concern would be accuracy of powder drops.

Quote from Reloader on April 9, 2015, 4:06 pmPeople get into buyer frenzi and often bid things up to unbelievable amounts. This seller is trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Dillion's old powder measures are not more accurate nor better, just old design. Dillon makes improvements when a new design is introduced. Don't fall for this snake oil salesman. I watch eBay and saw this as well. Some sucker will buy it, trust me, but be smarter than that. If you need another measure or better yet, a whole quick change set up, just buy it from Dilon or a local distributor and be happy.

I kinda figured this guy was full of it.
Looking at the old vs new the only thing I could see different was the double coil spring being replaced by a single spring in the linkage.
