Powder spill
Quote from Reloader on March 25, 2014, 2:36 amI own a 550b. I've loaded .38s and .45s for the past couple of years (bullseye and ramshot competition powder) with no issues. I started to load .308 and had to switch over to the large powder bar. I've been loading accurate 2495 powder. Each load I get minor spills of powder each time I push the handle forward as the shaft descends. I tried various means to correct, but without success. I'm beginning to think it's the powder just not metering well?? Any other suggestions / thoughts to try and correct?? Any and all help is appreciated .... Thanks!!

Quote from Reloader on March 25, 2014, 4:37 pm2495 is an extruded powder. If you cycle the handle too fast, then the powder will logjam in the funnel. The result is a light powder charge one time, and either spilled powder when the case is withdrawn from the funnel, or a heavy charge weight on the next case.
Slow your handle downstroke. It should take one full second to push the powder bar over. This allows the powder to fall through the funnel without jamming.

Quote from Reloader on August 21, 2014, 11:58 pmMy problem turned out to be a loose shellplate holder. RL550B, AA223O and 223 brass. Small amounts of powder were being spilled from cases as they advanced to next position.
Remember to clean everything once in a while. That has burnt me more than once.

Quote from Reloader on September 10, 2014, 4:11 amI am also having the same problem. I know dillion doesn't recommend extruded powder under. 30 cal. But my. 204 loves the load I made up with varget. Even going slow I get this problem. Out of 20 rounds five were light. I caught all the heavy loads. It's there anything else to help with this.
