Powder Spilling
Quote from Reloader on November 21, 2015, 7:36 pmI am using IMR4831 (ball/stick powder) for my 300WinMag and the powder throw is not consistent and powder will frequently spill on the up-stroke operating the press.
Thousands of rounds of pistol ammo and I've never had this problem. I'm using the correct powder bar and the machine is adjusted correctly.
What's the problem?

Quote from Reloader on December 3, 2015, 3:59 pmSounds like your powder throw is dirty. Every time I have a powder problem I take the unit apart and clean it all. Powder gets in between the bars where they slide and gums it up. Very fine powders like H110 spill onto the press and get into the primer slide and gum that up also. Try and take the whole powder assembly apart and clean it inside and out. It should operate smoothly by hand. If it doesn't, just a little bit of powder ground in there will screw it up.
