Powder spilling from funnel
Quote from Reloader on April 19, 2013, 4:02 amI am loading .44 magnum and have an issue with powder spilling. I am using Unique flake powder and after the case is coming down from the powder charge/flare, and is starting to move to the next station, a tiny bit of powder drops out of the funnel! It is not spilling out of the cases, I can go real slow and see the flakes falling out the the powder funnel when the shell moves about halfway to the next station.
I have polished the inside of the funnel to a mirror finish and everything seems to be set right, this is a new quick change as well so nothing is dirty in the powder bar assembly, I have only loaded 25 rounds so far.Any ideas?

Quote from Reloader on April 19, 2013, 1:10 pmAnother thing to try, Dump the powder out of the hopper, take it apart and wipe all the inside surfaces down with an anti static dryer sheet. Static electricity will cause the powder to stick to the inside of the drop tube and the charge bar. That was a suggestion I got from Dillon tech support a while ago. Worked for me.

Ill also give the dryer sheet trick a try.

Quote from Reloader on April 19, 2013, 7:23 pmYes the powder rod is on correctly, It is on the same way when I load for 4 other calibers and I have 2 650's, its on the same as the other one.
This caliber is the only one that does it, I use Unique for other calibers as well.

Quote from Reloader on April 19, 2013, 9:25 pmdo you get static on other 650 ? otherwise it has to be wing nut or out of shape funnel or funnel die I had same problem with 9mm & 40 cal Dillon said tighten wing nut until I could just see light between coils on spring and it stopped all my issue hope this helps . please do not think my earlier comments were suggesting you were not capable of setting it up right I just caught myself almost doing it .
