Powder sprinkle. How to stop it?
Quote from Reloader on June 4, 2016, 11:09 pmJust purchased an XL650. I'm loading 223 and have the machine setup for it. The problem is after I charge the case I get a sprinkle of powder (CFE 223) as I lower. It gets all over the place. How do I make it stop raining powder?
I have tried a rubberband, but that just makes snap back (closed). It still sprinkles....

Quote from Reloader on June 9, 2016, 2:29 pmSlow your handle stroke down. It should take at least one full second to move the powder bar from one side to the other, then wait a moment for all the powder to enter the case before you lift up on the handle.
DO not use a rubber band on the powder bar. The failsafe rod is what retracts the powder bar. The blue wing nut should be tight enough that when you push the handle forward to seat a primer, the coil spring above it is partially compressed. Check out the videos we have for more specifics.
