Pre 95 xl 650 index cam
Quote from Reloader on August 10, 2011, 11:58 pmI own a XL 650 I bought sometime in late 92 or early 93 (as memory serves).
Used it up thru 1995ish- when my situation changed and I got out of shooting and of course reloading.
Out of storage now and am relearning the machine and its quirks and my original manual was
rather rank so I found a newer version in PDF form and printed that out.
(The updated manual is far superior to that original one they put out when I purchased that machine)
During my perusing of the newer manual I noticed a statement :
On Page 42:
Station 2 - Priming
.
.
.
F:
1: Primers going in upside down or sideways.
"Using a old index cam (if purchased machine prior to March 1995).Well that got me to recalling that I did have issues at every loading session with just that sort of thing, way back when.
And sure enough now that I've loaded about 150 some odd rounds of 45acp I was having
issues with primer seating reliably. I had to toss at least 10 rounds because of issues like was referred to above in the manual.Bottom line is . What is the INDEX CAM part number???
I tried to find it in the diagrams but it is not clear what exact part I need to update.
I may be blind but I saw no part listed by that exact name.I sent a email to tech at Dillon asking the same but he may be away on vacation or I'm in too much of a rush for a answer. haha. SO I figured I'd try my luck here.
I wonder if I'd qualify for a free update?
