PRIMER NOT SEATING

I HAVE A DILLON 550B
ONE OUT OF 3 TIMES WHEN PUSHING TO SEAT THE PRIMER IT WILL NOT GO SEAT ALL THE WAY.
SO WHEN I TURN THE SHELL PLATE, IT WILL NOT MOVE
I HAVE TO MOVE THE SHELL PLATE I LITTLE, IN EITHER DIRECTION, RESEAT, THEN IT WILL MOVE
ANY FIX SUGGESTIONS

THANKS
CHAZ

It sounds like the shellplate bolt is not quite tight enough. Push down on the edge of the shellplate between stations 2 and 3. If it feels springy, then the bolt needs to be a bit tighter. Also, be sure the handle isn't contacting anything when you push it forward to seat the primer.

What caliber are you loading, what headstamp on the brass, what brand and type of primer?
