Primer picket hitting g on shell plate.
Quote from Reloader on April 19, 2017, 12:53 amNoticed on the down stroke my press was binding a little at the last part of the stroke. Noticed my primer pocket is a little off alignment. It will not go in the shell plate. The stroke presses down on the small wall that holds the primer. Took apart and cleaned it, reassembled and it still is off just enough to make the primer pocket catch on the plate. Any ideas?

Quote from Reloader on April 19, 2017, 5:44 pmLook on the inside of the primer feed body where the primer slide goes. You are looking for a couple of bumps inside the track, next to where the two bolts thread into the base. If the mounting bolts have been overtightened, it raises bumps inside the track. If present, use a file to knock down the high spots.
When you reassemble the primer feed, first insert the primer cup from the slide into the hole in the platform. Hold the slide up in place while you raise the handle. Now place the primer feed body over the primer slide, and snug the two bolts. The primer slide aligns the primer feed body this way.

When I seated the primer in the plate then tightened things up, the primer pocket would just rub enough coming into the primer to mess it up. Took it all apart again and checked the pocket gap. This time I went towards the max setting. It was better but still barely wanted to rub just as it was under the primer tube. Tweaked the primer slide arm rod a little to gain a little more pressure. This seemed to take care of it. Thanks for responding and giving your advise.
