Primer push rod
Quote from Reloader on April 22, 2010, 10:59 amCan you send me a photo of what the push rod seating should look without the shellplate in place.
The reason I ask is that I am getting a lot of crushed primers and the primer plate will not always turn to the correct place.
This all began when I started getting high primers & I tried to adjust the the primer push rod.
I think I am getting the primers jammed against the push rod
Thanks in advance
Andrew

Sorry, no pics readily available. There is no adjustment to the primer seater on the XL650. The bushing is screwed up into the underside of the platform until it stops. Without upward pressure on the primer seating punch, it should be somewhere bewteen flush to .020" below flush with the top of the bushing.

Quote from Reloader on April 23, 2010, 4:43 amIf I tighten the primer seater all the way the primer push rod obstructs the primer plate from rotating so I back it off.
I then get primers not seating fully & the occasional primer being crushed
- thanks Andrew

Quote from Reloader on April 23, 2010, 3:53 pmRemove the primer seating punch assembly from the underside of the platform. If the punch is taller than the top of the bushing, soak it in solvent a while, then push it in and out several times to clear any dirt or grit from the bushing. If, after that the punch does not retract to flush with or slightly below flush with the face of the bushing, then contact us for a replacement primer seating assembly.
