Primer Slide Problem
Quote from Reloader on June 4, 2015, 5:13 pmI have an RL550B and have had it for several years without much problem. The one thing that bugs me
the most is the primer slide, both large and small stick and doesn't return with the primer. I've taken it out and cleaned it, and have even tried a little oil on it, but both still stick. I've gotten into the habit of
just touching it on the upstroke to make sure it returns to seat the primer. Maybe I need a stronger spring, but I'm open to suggestions here.

Quote from Reloader on June 24, 2015, 1:02 amTry aligning the plastic primer dropper inside. Also get rid of the oil and clean everything. When you tighten the assembly up, just before it is tight, align it and see if it properly drops the primer. Adjust it before tightening the bolts. I ended buying a new assembly because it had just worn down. Before this I had tried all kinds of fixes.

Quote from Reloader on July 22, 2015, 10:16 pmI have had an RL550B for many years. Two problems I have had with the primer feed is dings around the area where the slide goes into the primer pick up and a worn flex tip on the primer magazine causing the primer to be misaligned on pick up. I do not recommend using lube on the primer slide, it is more likely to get dirty and bind than help. Use alcohol to clean all the parts of your loader. Only lube the main shaft.
