primer slide sticking
Quote from Reloader on April 14, 2011, 7:43 amPicked up a used SDB which had both small and large primer slides included. The large slide was installed and works flawlessly. Installed the small slide but noticed it sticking as it moved in to position a primer under a case; gets to within about 3/8", sticks, but can be easily tapped in. I removed the slide housing and found the slide still sticks slightly in the housing. Cleaned it all to no avail. Tried removing the plastic bearing plate from the large slide (thinking the one on the small one may have a problem) and installed it on the small one with no change. The housing isn't mounted to the press and the large slide moves easily so I believe the problem is with the small slide. Have read some of the fixes but they were for a 550, don't know if they would apply here.

If it is too tall it will catch on the magazine tip. Next, look for burrs on the plastic bearing strip, if you find any remove the high spots using a file.
