Primer slide wearing out?

My small primer cup started hitting the right side of the aluminum housing on the before it reached the primer. Got to the point where it was getting stuck and jerking throwing primers. I took my large primer cup spring and the piece that goes inside the spring out of the slide and replace it with the small primer cup and all was good. Now it’s starting to do the same thing. I think I am wearing out the slide under the primer cup and it starts to tilt to one side. Probably pushing 100000 rounds loaded real hard. This is a new primer housing. Can I order just the slides or is this a warranty issue?

The black plate under the primer bar I believe is called a slide bearing. Anyway, take a look at it and if you see silver marks where the black coating is worn off then you need a new one. A new one fixed the problem for me and should be covered under warranty.

As jforwel said, inspect the primer slide shim. Please email us, let us know what is worn, and include your address.

The shim looks ok. The paint is starting to rub off towards the back. I think I’m on my third or fourth shim. I took the small primer cup, spring and rod out of one slide and put them in the other slide. It would get stuck inside the housing everytime. It’s definitely the one slide for sure. I returned cup, spring and rod to the other slide and loaded a hundred rounds with no problems.

Please send us an email requesting a replacement small primer slide assembly. Include your address.

Will do. Thank You
