Primers

I have a relatively new Square deal b (9mm)less than 2000 rounds in 5 months or so...

Here is my challenge.. Priming system works very well for around 300-400 rounds . Sometime during that period I seem to bust the tip off the priming tube... the weird thing is that it appears to happen after a priming tube reload ..maybe a coincidence.. I have called Your awesome Customer service and talked to them.. They sent me new Primer ends and I have adjusted the primer pick up according to the techs instruction..

Is this normal / and I should get more tube ends and live with it /or could I possibly do something else to prevent this?

I have been reloading for several years and am only new to the square deal..

Ps. I love this press makes very quality rounds .

rsimmons,

i have a SDB, no problems with primers. either you have something not properly adjusted at the primer feed area, or i think that you are pushing your primer tube way to far into the tube holder and cruching your end cap. Only push the tube until you feel light resistance, you should see the plastic tip out of the bottom, do not push it lower than the back setscrew that is the feed stop for the primer pickup. it sounds like your primer pickup is pushing into your tube end, this means it is seated too far.
