Quote from Reloader on September 11, 2014, 5:05 pmBe sure the ejector wire is not positioned underneath the shellplate bolt. Adjust the shellplate bolt tension first, then snug the set screw on the side of the shaft, then press the loop of the ejector wire around the head of the bolt. Be sure the inside of the shellplate is greased where the bolt contacts it.

Quote from Reloader on September 11, 2014, 6:03 pmBe sure there grease on the Indexer Block (see video about 35 seconds in). Part number 18 on page 48 of the XL650 May 2007 manual (downloadable if needed, see tab at top of Dillon webpages). The 13677 Ring Indexer rotates the shell plate. A dab of grease goes a long way in a smooth rotation of the shell plate. The shell plate adjustment is important as Dillon stated in above post.
Be sure the 13700 650 Link Arm Pins have fresh grease. This can smooth up the loader a lot. Newer versions of 650s have a grease fitting. Older versions have a hole in the frame and crank. Diss-assembly and fresh grease can go a long way.
1) shell plate adjustment first, along with ejector wire
2) indexer block / ring indexer dab of grease
3) link pin grease

Quote from Reloader on December 4, 2014, 2:48 pmYeah if you tighten the bolt down to much or have the spring underneath the bolt NOT around the bolt it will really cause you major problems lot's of cursing and fowl names thrown around. So, make sure you follow the feedback from Dillon and if you still need help give us a shout.

Quote from Reloader on December 4, 2014, 3:20 pmLooks like the shaft could use some oil.
Disassemble the link pins and replace the grease. The newer 650s have zerk fittings for purchase. Old style last a very long time by keeping greased and clean.Looks like the shell plate is to tight and has no grease on the shell plate bolt (just a dab). I also put a dab on the grease on index ball. See figure on page 52 of owners manual
Place a dab of grease on indexer block. A small amount of lube here can greatly smooth up the indexing of the shell plate! See pages 48 and 52.
Clean the case slide (page 52 - part #2). Small amount of grease on the bottom where there is contact with the platform.
