Problems from switching from 124gr to 147gr
Quote from Reloader on September 9, 2016, 10:51 pmLooking for some advice reloading some 9mm 147gr RNFP on my XL 650.
I have successfully reloaded 9mm 124gr RN without issue. When I have switched to the 147gr bullet it seems I cannot crimp correctly. I adjust the crimp and it pushes the bullet further into the case. I adjust the crimp so that it keeps the OAL length alone and the bullet is so loosely in there that I can easily push the bullet into the case and even pull it out with my fingers. Even the act of falling into the blue bin can push the bullet into the case.
I'm using the Dillon dies on my 650XL.
Both bullets are identical diameter (0.355).

Quote from Reloader on September 10, 2016, 12:00 amIt seems my 'de-priming/resizing' die had loosened off and backed out enough that it wasn't properly resizing the brass back to it's original size (Lesson learned... always check your die tightness before starting). I didn't notice since I have been using de-primed brass. Now that it's back into spec... issue resolved.
