Pulling 223 bullets
Quote from Relsiswb on October 4, 2025, 8:37 pmI’m trying to use a kinetic bullet puller to pull 223 bullets. I cannot get them to budge. Has anyone had success pulling 223 bullets?

Quote from The Human Manual on October 7, 2025, 6:42 pmAre you pulling bullets from military ammo, civilian factory ammo, or reloads? Reloads should disassemble easily with a kinetic puller. Some commercial and virtually all military ammo has a waterproofing sealant in the case neck. For these, first use a bullet seating die to seat the bullets .010" deeper. This is sufficient to break this sealant. Afterwards you should be able to pull the bullet using a kinetic puller.
When using the kinetic puller, swing it fast but light. Not like you would drive a nail, but just swing it with your wrist. Speed, not power is what makes the kinetic puller work. And use either a block of hardwood or a lead ingot to be the impact surface.

Quote from Relsiswb on October 7, 2025, 11:18 pmThanks for replying. I’m pulling from reloads. They are lightly crimped. As I said, I could wack that thing a million times and they wouldn’t budge. I decided to purchase the Hornady cam-lock bucket puller. I didn’t see that Dillon sold anything but the kinetic puller.
