Question on primer pocket position

Is there a measurement from the top of the primer slide to the top of the primer cup?

No. However, there is a measurement from the underside of the primer bar to the top of the primer cup. This should be 1.215-1.220". The 550 manual has a photo showing how to measure this height, and the dimension range.
