question on steel cases

I AM SOME WHAT NEW TO RELOADING MY OLD MAN RELOADED FOR A LONG TIME 30 + YEARS NOW I AM RELOADING AND BEEN LOOKING AROUND ON THE ENTER NET AN HAVE READ SOME ABOUT RELOADING STEEL CASES BOXER PRIMED OF COARSE MY QUESTION IS CAN YOU SAFELY ? I HAVE A LOT OF 7.63X39 STEEL CASES LAYING AROUND THAT IS BOXER PRIMED WOULD SAVE FOR HARD TIMES IF THEY COULD BE RELOADED AND WOULD MY 550B DO THE JOB?

I know of nobody that reloads steel cases. The steel is going to be hard on the dies since you're sizing steel with, steel. How hard, Dillon could probably say. The bigger problem would be the fatigue of sizing, belling and crimping the steel which is likely to give out from metal fatigue.

You could always load 1 case as an experiment and carefully inspect the case after each stage to see what has happened.

THANKS I LOADED 2 ON MY OLD LYMAN SINGLE STAGE TO TEST AND THEY LOADED FINE I DID NOT LOAD WITH POWDER DUE TO LACK OF DATA WITH THE CASE BEING STEEL NOT SURE ABOUT CASE PRESSURE AND I MARK THE BULLETS WITH RED PAINT SO NOT OT GET MIX UP WITH OTHERS I DO SEE WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT BEING HARD TO SIZE (I AM GLAD TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A PLACE TO ASK QUESTIONS) THANKS AGAIN

I would question whether these steel cases are actually boxer primed. If they are, they can probably be reloaded 1 or 2 times at best. Steel lacks the elasticity of brass, and can work harden and crack in a hurry. Their use will also shorten the life of the dies somewhat.
