question;s for dillon
Quote from Reloader on March 29, 2013, 12:30 amii'm having trouble with 9mm cases feeding into shell plate no matter where i position the cam the case needs to be pushed in with my finger approx. 1/16" in order to go into sizing die. 2nd problem, is powder drop will drop 4.2 for three to four cases then drops one case or two at 3.8 then does one as high as 4.8 then back down to 4.2. and then gives me zero powder in about two of every 20 that i run. i am moving handle all the way down and up the same way each time. 3rd problem, running approx. 20 complete rounds my OAL ranges from 1.119 to 1.129. my seating dye and crimp dyes are set correctly and tight. my shell plate, if i tighten any further, it will not index. if anyone from Dillion or others can please advise me on how to correct these problems please feel free to contact me via the forum or by phone at 419-476-6699 after 6 pm Eastern time, it would be greatly appreciated!

Can you tell us a little about the history of the press. Have you always been loading 9mm or did you change from another caliber? When a resized cartridge moves to the priming and powder station, are the primers seating ok? When you pull the lever up, does the powder funnel drop straight into the mouth of the cartridge or does it seem to catch on the edge of the cartridge, then jump in? I have some ideas but don't want to say until I learn more.

Quote from Reloader on April 12, 2013, 1:52 pmSimilar thing happened to me once. I didn't check range pickup brass well enough. A smaller case got inside some rifle brass and came out in the case feeder. It was smaller than the case feed ramp and eventually ended up on the shelf under the cam.
Maybe that happened ?
