Reducing Casefeeder Height - How Far?

I'm working with a limited space in my basement reloading room. The room is finished and has approx. 43" of available space between the top of the bench and the ceiling.

I'm looking at mounting options from Inline Fabrication (I have several of their products for my turret presses).

Two options are feasible in my situation - the Micro Ultramount (4" tall) and the flush/bench mount. The deciding factor lies in the details of reducing the height of the feeder.

My question is for those folks who have successfully modified their case feeder height - what's the max height reduction without negative effects on function?

Also, what's the minimum space required between the top of the case feeder rim and the ceiling? Some say 4", others say 8-10". I just need enough room to load the feeder (I'll take it off when I change plates).

Thanks is advance.

If you put handfuls of brass in the feeder you could probably go with the 4". I keep my clean brass in plastic nut jars from Sam's and dump the brass from them directly into the feeder so I need need 8" to 10".
