Reloading
Quote from Reloader on April 11, 2011, 10:53 pmI have a XL 650, and I was wondering when I shoot factory rounds my brass fly a lot further than when I reload my own. Is there something I may be doing wrong?
I'm reloading 40 S&W. 165g TMJ and 5.4g of pistol powder(to my reloading book thats .3 grains of powder less than max safe load).
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated

Quote from Reloader on April 12, 2011, 2:52 pmNo problems, it is very straightforward: the factory ammo is loaded to greater pressure than your reloads. What most reloaders typically look for is aload that first reliably cycles their handgun, then what groups the best. Some competitive shooters also participate in sports that require ammo that meets a minimum bullet weight/velocity ratio as well.

Quote from Reloader on September 11, 2012, 6:10 pmSalem50001, according to my Lymans 49th reloading handbook it looks like your using under the recommended powder grains,
165gn TMJ with P. Pistol calls for a starting minimum of 6.3 grains of powder
180gn TMJ with P. Pistol calls for a starting minimum of 6.0 grains of powder
Recheck your reloading manual and BTW you should have a few manuals for reference.Get yourself a brass catcher and you won't have to bend over to pick up brass. Hope this helps, regards Bluerocket
