Removal of Super 1050 Index Ball

The index ball (part #13508) on my Super 1050 has gotten gunked up from powder spills. I can push the ball down, but don’t know how to remove the ball and the index ball spring (part #13525) for cleaning 🙁 Any tips/ideas?

This is a lot of gunk! The hole the detent ball fits into is open at the bottom. Use an allen wrench to push up on the bottom of the ball.

Hit the index ball with some solvent and then repeatedly push down on the index ball to pop it out. Use of a magnet will speed the process. When it is out, clean the hole thoroughly.

Use a magnet. When you get the ball out, scrub the hole with a bore brush.
