Resizing/Decap Die Casings catching the lip
Quote from Reloader on May 30, 2020, 11:10 pmMy 650 is driving me nuts!!!! I never had a problem with casings lining up with the decapping/resizing die till recently. The first station, the resizing/decapping one, about 50% of the time on the upstroke the casing get's hung up on the lip/side of the sizing die. All my other dies line up perfectly. It seems that the casing tilts out just enough to not line up. I replaced the casing plate, thinking the old one must be worn out. I replaced the block that pushes the casing into the casing plate. I've cleaned everything I don't even know how many times. I go real slow on releasing the handle after setting the primer, and go real slow on the upstroke. Anyone have any similar experiences and found what's causing this?

Quote from Reloader on May 31, 2020, 11:32 amMy 650 began doing that when I switched from .45 ACP to 9 mm. The 9 mm cases began catching on the edge of the resizing die. I noticed that the catching was caused by the case not being pushed far enough into the shell plate. I adjusted the vertical rod so that the cartridge is pushed further in. Shortening the vertical rod by loosening the lock nut and turning the rod CCW (raising it) solved my problem. Hope it something simple that remedies your problem. I have loaded slightly over 20K rounds with my machine.
