RF 100 Disapointment
Quote from Reloader on February 1, 2014, 2:49 amMine is probably 5 yrs old and has not been updated. It flips at least 2 small primers out of every 100. Again as other have. I have tried every adjustment I can several times over. So I gave up on it and went with the flip tray with 100% accuracy. Then I heard about the update with the rheostat. (Great) So I was ready to order it and then I read the forum and it sounds like it doesn't really work either. I tried selling it on another forum for 225 dollars and people laughed. Calling it a paper weight. My question is. Does anybody have any luck with this machine? Can it be sent back to Dillon to be fixed? What did you do with your? Really sad considering how fine all other Dillon Equipment works.
Please let me know what I should do?
Thanks

Quote from Reloader on February 10, 2014, 10:05 amI recently tried 3 RF 100's. My luck was like yours. Luckily, I was in the 30 day return window. This is the only Dillon product that I've returned, due to bad performance. After more Internet research in forums from others, we are in the majority. I truly wish Dillon would develop a different machine. Maybe a hand-held device such as the Vibra-Prime. I have 2 Vibra-Primes, and both work much more reliable than the RF 100 ever did.

Quote from Reloader on February 15, 2014, 5:56 pmI had the same issue as yours except it was 5 or 6 out of every hundred flipped and 1 or two jammed in sideways. I sent it back to Dillon to get it fixed and it does the same thing. I was a total waste of money and I wish I returned it when I had the chance. I would not recommend anyone every purchase this piece of garbage.

Quote from Reloader on April 7, 2014, 9:41 amI decided to try the RF100's one more time. This time (so far) my results have been much better. Ordered 2, (1 large, 1 small), got 2, but one came in roughed up, so it's being replaced by Dillon.
Have the one I kept working near 100%. More like 99.5%. And with results like that, I'm satisfied. What I don't like is the noise. So I began doing so experimentation on how to reduce the noise WITHOUT making any permanent, or complicated modifications to the machine. Here's what I came up with. It worked for me. Your results may vary.

Quote from Reloader on April 15, 2014, 7:11 pmI bought one when they first came out. Right from the start I had 2-3 primers flipped the wrong way.I took the cover off and watched as it filled the tube, when a primer was flipped I stopped the machine and turned it over by hand. I've just found out this was a common problem. So, I ask Dillon, Is this a problem that can be fixed or do I just live with it. Is there a new model that works better or, can mine be repaired? Your products are the best. What happened here? I have a 650 w/case feeder, before that I had a 550,they are the perfection of reloading. Can my primer filler be made the same, or swapped for a new model?

Quote from Reloader on September 15, 2014, 4:54 pmI dont know what the others are complaining about. Yes its a hassel at times to have primers flip. In my case the only issue I have is small primers. The last reloading I did was 500 rounds of 40 cal. Out of that I had 4 that flipped. What I found out was that I was tightening the bottom screw holding the small plastic guide too tight. I now have the screw loose at about a thickness between a nickle and a dime. That caused flipping from 10 or more to just around 1 or less per 100. I rarely load less than 500 at a time.

Quote from Reloader on November 5, 2014, 2:55 pmJust deal with it for now. Dillon appears to have no plan to correct machine performance. Anyone who has experience knows a vibratory feeder bowl has to be free floating. Dillon has grounded theirs out with a bushing and screw. If you try to free float this bowl you cannot get the bowl to vibrate slow enough to feed. This could be corrected electronically. Just so you know I am not blowing I have had 18 years of working experience with this type of delivery system. Bowls from 6 inchs to two feet in dia. This product is just not designed correctly to do the job efficiently.
