rf100 shakes anvils from primers
Quote from Reloader on March 9, 2019, 3:11 pmMy RF100 started speeding up, shaking the primers frantically. I am having multiple primers per tube of 100 where the anvils have come loose, and jam up the primer slide. I am currently using Winchester small pistol primers.
When I press the start button, it vibrates normally, and functions correctly for a period of time, but speeds up dramatically, sometime before the 100 primers are in the tube. When it speeds up, the primers bounce around, have trouble feeding through the plate and into the tube. I think this is when the anvils get loosened, falling out inside the primer tube, and jamming up the primer slide. When I remove the cases, I usually find a primer on top of an anvil in the cup, which of course jams, as it's too tall. Previously, this never happened, before the machine started to dramatically speed up. What can I do about it? What causes the speed up? The loader is a Dillon RL1000, but any machine is going to have problems when the primers are coming apart.
Thanks,
Mark

Quote from Reloader on April 6, 2019, 5:36 pmAm I the only one with this problem? Primer feed speeds up dramatically, primers bouncing around, and will hardly feed into the tube they are jumping around so badly. It took me a while to realize that was why I was having primers come apart, losing the anvil.

I was hoping the post from Dillon meant I was getting helped. As I said, there is no speed control on my machine.

Quote from Reloader on April 29, 2019, 5:16 pmI would recommend purchasing the rheostat upgrade kit. I suspect a diode is damaged on your existing circuit board, and adding the rheostat kit also replaces the circuit board.

Quote from Reloader on September 3, 2019, 4:24 pmI got the rheostat, and installed it. I do like that I can control the speed, but I am still having anvils come out of the primers. I have replaced the end on the primer magazine.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
