Ring Indexer Breakage
Quote from Reloader on May 8, 2020, 3:22 pmBroke the indexing ring, have a new one on the way, is there anything special that must be done to reinstall this part.
I am good at taking things apart, however sometimes the going back together gets me in trouble. LOL
Any advice on putting it back together would be appreciated.

Quote from Reloader on May 29, 2020, 8:08 pmI loaded 200 rounds of 9mm on my new XL650 and my ring indexer broke last night. I would also appreciate suggestions for correctly installing the new part that's in the mail. Thanks.

Quote from Reloader on January 11, 2021, 12:26 amI too am new to reloading but finding out the downfalls of the XL 750.
The primer setup is garbage and the primer tubes are junk. I sent my loader back to Dillon when it was Two months old to fix the primer problems. Well the blamed my shells and CCI primers. It was never fixed and now deprime with a Lee loader. Now I have had two index rings break for no reason I can find. Happen on 38 special and 9mm I am glad I ordered the spare parts but now I am down. These are areas that should have been engineered a fix instead of throwing parts at it. I spent the money for Lee’s new machine and it is perfect and no issues. We need help from Dillon to fix the 750 and make it work right and dependable.

Quote from Reloader on January 18, 2021, 11:58 amI have 12-15k rounds thru my 650 (9mm and 380) and haven't had any issues with the indexer ring.
However, I do do regular maintenance every 3k rounds and keep the press well lubed.

Quote from Reloader on January 18, 2021, 3:23 pmI've had no problems so it's the same for me on the number of rounds, about 30K+ mostly 45 ACP. I adjust the large bolt on the shell holder so that it easily rotates. The greatest force to rotate it is due to the ball bearing being moved out of the recesses in the shell holder. I check it by hand before every loading session just to ensure that it has not tightened. I lube my machine about every 1K rounds.
