RL1050 Handle pulls down to far

My RL1050s handle goes to far on down stroke cause it to go 1 inch past the bottom of the stroke. The press then after going an inch to far comes back up properly and advances the next station.

I've removed all the dies and tested the toolhead by itself and I still get the handle running to far down. If the tool head is off I am fine.

After looking closely I see that the toolhead hits the shell plate nut causing the issue. I need to get toolhead to stop properly and return back up. If it stopped just before hitting shell plate nut it would be fine.

What can i do?

Did you install a thrust bearing under the shellplate bolt lock ring?

I did put a Level 10 bearing on my RL1050. Do you believe this is causing the toolhead to hit the shellplate nut?

Yes. Test by removing the bearing and checking the cycle

You were right it was the bearing.

I was pulling the bearing out when I read what caused the issue. The tool head is hitting the shell plate nut on the down stroke and besides taking out the bearing I learned that I could instead buy a thinner shellplate nut and that also would fix problem without taking out the bearing.

I was able to buy this upgraded part online.
