RL1100 9mm->38SC
Quote from Reloader on October 19, 2021, 2:13 amI was wondering what all I need to switch when changing from 9mm to 38SC on my RL1100? They seem to be nearly identical so any help would be great.

Different dies, shell plate, case feed adapter, bushing, pins and all other parts from the conversion kit are different. Also the 38 special needs a spacer washer on the case feed plate, which is the only common item , a small pistol plate.

The Wikipedia article... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.38_Short_Colt ...says that the case dimensions (except length) are similar to those of the .38 Special but that it can take bullets of two diameters. Midwayusa has some .358" bullets, if that's what size it takes. It's interesting that someone from Dillon said to use the 9mm 'F' powder funnel that is for 355" bullets?!
