RL1100 and Super 1050 toolheads: interchangeable?
Quote from gmason3815 on July 27, 2023, 4:52 amHey. Just bought a RL1100 after 10 years experience with a xl650.
I would like to add a second toolhead to my brand new RL1100 and I found a super 1050 toolhead previously used.
Are these interchangeable without issue? Thanks for your comments and opinion

Quote from ARMTGuy on July 27, 2023, 3:57 pmAlmost. The only difference is in the length of the ratchet bolted to the back of the toolhead. The Super 1050 ratchet is longer, due to the longer stroke length. They ratchet is easily moved, as most users detach the ratchet when swapping toolheads, so as to not need to reset the primer cam/arm assembly.

Quote from The Human Manual on May 2, 2025, 3:39 pmThe ratchet is a quality control mechanism. If you fail you fully lower the handle, the ratchet tab remains caught on the teeth of the ratchet, preventing you from just lifting the handle up. You would have to manually disengage the ratchet tab from the ratchet before you could lift the handle.
