Rotary primer disk jam

I’m seeing issues where the rotary primer disk gets jammed and won’t turn. It’s a pain because you have to remove the shell plate before you can open the feedbody housing to clear the jam.
Sometimes this seems to be caused by a primer that is out of tolerance (I.E. the diameter or height of the primer exceeds the SAAMI specified maximum dimensions). Other times the primer dimensions seem to be okay so I guess maybe the primer just doesn’t sit all the way into the hole in the primer disk for whatever reason. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

Cut a small cloth patch, about 3/8" square. Wet it with alcohol. Use the plastic follower to push it through the magazine tube several times, to clean the interior.
Out-of-round primers are difficult to catch beforehand.

I have already cleaned the magazine tube with alcohol but the problem persists. Some times this happens because of primers that are out of tolerance but that isn't the problem I'm having now. Now it's jamming even when there are no primers in magazine tube or rotary primer disk. No primers in the system at all.
After removing the 2 screws that hold the primer feedbody housing to the platform assembly and removing the primer feedbody housing I can cycle the primer index arm to advance the rotary primer disk without issue. As soon as I set the primer feedbody housing back in place on the platform assembly I try to cycle the primer index arm but it will not budge. Remove the primer feedbody housing and it cycles freely again.
This might be easier to address on the phone. I'll call support.

bill_smith,
Your problem is that the primer seater assembly is dirty. When this occurs, the primer seating punch cannot fully retract. This prevents the primer disc from rotating. Use a 9/16" open end wrench to remove the primer seater assembly from the underside of the platform. Disassemble and clean it. The top of the punch should retract to at least flush with the top of the surrounding bushing, to .020" below flush.

The primer seater assembly has been removed but the problem continues. I called support and spoke to Bob. He is sending parts to fix the problem. An index arm, index arm spring, primer disk pin, bowed washer, and support shim. Hopefully that will fix it.

So I received the parts that Bob, from Dillon Support, sent. He had sent several parts since it wasn't completely clear what exactly was causing the problem. I started by replacing the index arm and associated spring which has resolved the problem.
This was the 1st time I had called support and I was very impressed. You guys do exactly what you advertise in your "No BS Warranty". You sent replacement parts at no cost with no squabbling. You even sent parts that you "might need to be replaced" to make sure it was fixed quickly. Thank you!

@bill_smith
I second that. I had the same problem with the same results.
