RT1200 Setup
Quote from Reloader on November 8, 2014, 5:47 pmI have been reloading 223 on my Dillon RL550B for a few years not and love the press but I am not real fond of the case prep. In a effort to speed things up a bit I recently purchased a RT1200 trimmer. I am getting some conflicting setup's from different people so I figured this would be the best place to ask.
Can I use the dillon decap/size die in station one like I always have to deprime, size and expand the mouth of the case before I run the brass through the trimmer in station three? I know that this will in essence be sizing the case twice.

Alternatives are:
1. universal decap die in station one.
2. back off the decap/size die in station one so that the case and neck are not resized. Set the decap a lower so the primer is removed. This way the case/neck is not worked twice. Both alternative will use the trim die to resize the case and neck along with trimming the case.
The alternatives will provide longer life to the case!
