SDB Issues
Quote from Reloader on October 29, 2011, 11:29 pmI recently bought a used SDB from a fellow. It was missing the Large primer system I have ordered and recieved the new Large primer parts. I had trouble with the case mouths getting properly Belled on both the 9mm and 38 special Set up. I have since ordered and replaced my SDB powder measure that has cured my Belling issue. I still have issues with the Small primers seating properly. Some times about 15 out of a hundred it will fail to feed a primer. additionally about 15 to 20 times out of a hundred it will either flip a primer sideways or upside down. I am very cautious about how i pick up and load the primer magazine so I am confidant that I am not loading them upside down or side ways.
So Can you tell me what may be going on with my small primer slide magazine etc?
Also can you rebuild and upgrade my old powder measure?
Thank you.

Quote from Reloader on October 31, 2011, 3:14 pmIt sounds like the primer seating punch and cup are no longer fully seated in the primer slide. If you remove the primer feed, then the primer slide assembly, measure from the underside of the primer slide to the top of the primer cup. It should measure 1.410", +/- .003". If it is taller than that, it contacts the primer in the magazine tip and spins it, then pulls it through the T-slot in the plastic tip. Reseating the punch/cup and replacing the plastic tip should correct this. If it does not, please phone us while you are in front of the machine.
We can probably rebuild your old powder measure. Please phone or e-mail for return authorization. If e-mailing, please include your address.
