Seating die insert
Quote from Reloader on July 19, 2020, 9:38 pmI'm loading Montana Gold 147gr FP's. When I was choosing which end of this insert to use, I was troubled. The RN end seemed to be a tighter fit, but don't know if this would press the bullet in straight. The flat end obviously is flat but has a much greater amount of wobble, again making me wonder if it will not be pressed into the case as straight. Some sources state: RN/HP and SWC on the other. Some forums simply say round nose vs flat tip. Insights?

But I am confused about the wobble you describe. How do you identify this wobble when the bullet and case mouth are already up inside the die, unless you have the die body set too high forcing you to lower the seating stem way, way low. Or I'm not on the same page (always a good possibility for me).
