setting decapping/sizing die
Quote from Reloader on November 21, 2012, 4:01 amI would like to know how to set decapping/sizing die in my 450B. The way I set it in my rockchucker is to raise the ram to the top of the stroke and turn the die down until it touches and lower the ram and turn the die down 1/8 to 1/4 turn more? Is this the same way on my dillon or will it damage the shell plate?

Quote from Reloader on November 21, 2012, 3:59 pmIt very much depends on which caliber the dies are for. On carbide handgun dies, screw the die down until it contacts the shellplate, then back it up slightly;1/16 of a turn will suffice. On bottleneck rifle, if you don't have a headspace case gage, then screw the die down until it contacts the case, then screw the die down an additional 1/8 turn. YOu won't damage the shellplate at all.
