Setting Up and Using the RT1200B

I purchased the RT1200B several years ago, but never set it up on my XL650, mainly because I felt just a bit intimidated, and maybe my short-attention span had something to do with it.
This morning, I decided to overcome my worries, and set it up using the instruction booklet that Dillon provides with most accessories. Once I got over the initial "Huh? Is that what they mean?" obstacles, and re-read it, it was simple to set up, and even easier to run. I checked the case twice BEFORE I put it into the trim die, and then checked it after it trimmed out. Absolutely perfect.
I'm using military brass in .30-06 for my M1 rifle, so I want to make sure it's correct. Setup and operation was easy.

QUESTION: Can I purchase just the trim die (without the motor) for a different caliber, such as the .223 or a .30-30? Or do you recommend I purchase a whole new trim unit set up for each of those calibers?

I just wish there were a way to mount the switch box without having to drill into it. I might just use zip-ties and secure the power cord to something to hold the switch box in place.
Thanks for making great products!

Trim dies are available individually - I'd recommend setting up a separate tool head for each caliber to avoid having to (re) adjust the sizing function of the trim die every time you change calibers.

I purchased some 13/16-20 hex spindle nuts at the auto parts store (Dorman #615074) and drilled/tapped them for hex head set screws to replace the "motor jam nut" - this eliminates having to readjust the trim length when moving the RT-1200 motor from one trim die to another.

I use velcro straps to hold the switch box on the casefeeder post on my XL-650 when I am processing brass.

Thanks....I don't have the equipment or capability to drill and tap, but then, I'm only going to be using a couple of different calibers....the oddball might be .30-30 Winchester, but otherwise, right now, the two others would be .30-06 and .223 Rem.

I like the idea of securing the switchbox with velcro straps, I've got several of those lying around the house.
