Shell plate not advancing
Quote from Reloader on September 17, 2014, 1:42 pmI recently converted my 9x19mm setup to .45ACP and now the shell plate does not advance when the lever is lifted. IF the shell plate screw is slightly loose it will rotate, until the screw tightens itself.
What did I do wrong?

Quote from Reloader on September 18, 2014, 10:15 amOk, it is clean under the shell plate, there is nothing impeding the movement of the plate. The indexing lever foes not have a 90 degree edge any more, it is worn on one side.
How does one replace this part? (I do have a replacement indexing lever already)

Quote from Reloader on September 20, 2014, 1:37 amI expected Dillon to respond today, but I see they did not. I recommend you call Dillon when you can be in front of the loader. They can walk you through the replacement. I looked at the manual and on page 3 there is an expanded figure with the index system. There is a pointer from the figure to the main frame. Looks like there is a Set Screw (part 13789). If I had to guess you remove the set screw and the index system come out. From the expanded figure you should be able to figure out how to remove and replace the indexer paw (13705). Make sure it is pointed the correct direction! Install in the reverse.
If you have issues, be by the loader and call dillon. Maybe someone at the range also has a Square Deal and can drop by to help out!
Good luck and load safe

Quote from Reloader on September 20, 2014, 4:46 pmYou need to remove the shaft to change out the indexer lever. First, detach and remove the primer feed system. Next, detach the loaded cartridge chute/bracket from the right side of the frame. Now remove both link arms. Finally, in the back of the machine, about an inch below the flange that bolts to your bench, is the indexing bolt. This bolt must be removed. Now the shaft will slide out the bottom of the shaft. Only one bolt needs to be removed to change the index lever. When reassembling, perform in reverse. When inserting the index bolt, the link arms must be installed , and the handle pulled down. Otherwise the bolt won't go in.

Quote from Reloader on September 23, 2014, 6:15 pmSweet. Thanks. Did all that, stripped it down and rebuilt it. New indexing lever didn't help at all.
Started process of elimination again and got as far as "lubricate underside of shell plate retaining bolt" and realized where I'd messed up.
A dab of grease later at it works perfectly. Loaded just short of 500 rounds of .45ACP today and it didn't hesitate once.
Thanks for the help.
