Shell Plate Not Indexing Properly
Quote from Reloader on January 2, 2021, 12:57 pmI have a Square deal, 550, 650 and a new 750.
I am not happy with the new 750 press.
I am having issues with the shell plate not completely
indexing causing the primer seating upstroke to intermittently fail.
Failures include flipped primers and crushed primers.
The shell plate hangs up just short of indexing causing the primer cup to
snap up into the shell plate causing the problems.
I removed the shell plate several time to clean under it.
Tried loosening the plate screw.
Never had a problem like this on any press before.

Quote from Reloader on January 11, 2021, 7:11 pmI had the same problem with my XL750.
On the left side of the press under position #4 there are 2 Allen head cap screws. Loosen those and move the block forward or aft. I took a bright LED and a magnifying glass to rotate mine correctly.
You can tell that you are on the correct block by the angled black plastic piece that actually rotates the shell plate which direction the adjustment block needs to go in.
Once it's adjusted you won't have anymore problems.

Quote from Reloader on January 24, 2021, 6:56 pmI had a similar problem. Mine was caused by over tightening the shell plate bolt. I backed it out 1/8 - 1/4 turn and the problem stopped.
