Shellplate movement

My 550 is out of action temporarily so I started using my backup press, a Square Deal, but I noticed that I can move the shell plate in both directions very easily.
Auto indexing and shell plate advance works fine but when placing a case in station 1, it is very easy to move the shell plate out of alignment in both directions.
I've removed and cleaned under the shell plate and the detent ball seems OK and in the right place.
