Shellplate releases cases at the first die

Page 1 of 2Next

Hi,
When i use the first die, the case get stuck in it. At first there was only one "slot" in the shellplate but since yesterday an other one has this also. I added a Youtube film because my english isn't that great. I market the "slots" with some white correction fluid. Is this a know issue? Am i doing something wrong?

What cartridge are you loading? What number is stamped on the top of the shellplate?

I'm reloading 9mm and the shellplate has number 5 on it. And those brass pins have number 3 on it.

The shellplate and brass locator buttons are correct for 9mm. What brand of brass are you loading? Can you send some photos of the headstamp?

I have mostly S&B brass (99%). Before i reload, i first put al the brass trought the first die one so that the old primers are removed before cleaning.

I'm not sure which part you want to see, so i made a little collection of images of the plate, the head from the side and from under.

Can't read the head stamp in the picture. Make sure they are 9mm Luger, S&B has one that says 9mm Br.C which is a .380 style cartridge and the rim is narrower ( basically called rimless ) than a 9mm luger cartridge and it will pull through the baseplate set for 9mm.

I have some original boxes (this is what they sell at the range) of the same brass and it says:
S&B
9 mm Luger/ 9mm Para/ 9x19
115 grs /7.5 g

and the bottom stamps says:
S&B, 9x19 and 18 (some have 17 on it)

There is a prerry big rimm visable and i can realy put my nail in it. But only 2 slots have this problem, the others not and 2 other shooters use the square deal and don't have this issue.

The two outlined slots in the shellplate appear to be damaged. Please email us for return authorization, and we'll have you send that shellplate in for warranty replacement.
