Size/Deprime tool - carbide sizing ring loose

I'm a happy owner of a Dillon XL650 that has worked pretty much as expected through the last 4 years. All problems/failures were caused mainly by normal tear and wear or possibly use of excessive force at some obstruction. I didn't do nothing 🙂

This weeken, though, while just running the (9mm)sizer/deprimer.
I ended up with a situation where, the carbide sizing ring was detached from the size/deprime tool and followed along the shellcasing to the base of the XL650.

The questions are

Does the size/deprime tool have a minimum or expected lifetime. I woud consider the +~20K i got now as fair but...
I know this is totally unpredictable depeding on lubing and so on but, how long shoud it last with... say dry casings.
Just so i know when to restock.

Just out of curiosity, how is the sizing ring attached to the tool?
Nothing seems to be broken, and so on. Glued it back in, made a 150 more but then it popped out again.

Carbide rings are secured in three different ways. The carbide is a slight press fit into the die body; a glue is used to secure the ring into the die body, and the die mouth is crimped slightly over the edge of the ring. If your ring pulled out, please email us your name and address, and the caliber. We will create a return authorization for you to send the die in. We will crimp the ring into a new die body under warranty.
