Small vs Large Powder Bar

Page 13 has the following comment:
Rule of thumb: Use the large bar whenever possible–see
page 15.

Page 15 of the 550 manual gives this information on the small and large powder bars:
Small – use for dropping 3 to 20 grains of powder
Large – use for dropping 20 to approximately 45 to 50 grains of powder

What is the disconnect here?  What is the logic behind the "Use the large bar whenever possible" comment?

I assume you want to use the largest powder bar that will drop the weight wanted.  This is due to less of a spread in the space to drop and provides a more consistent drop. ..

Full text on drop weights amounts in the RL 550B May 2007 manual:
Dillon Precision manufactures four types of powder
bars.
1. Extra Small – use for dropping less than 3 grains of powder
2. Small – use for dropping 3 to 20 grains of powder
3. Large – use for dropping 20 to approximately 45 to 50 grains of powder
4. Magnum – use for dropping 50 or more grains of powder
The extra small powder bar is used when loading .32 Auto, .32 S&W and .32 SWL. Both the extra small powder bar and the magnum powder bar are non-standard items and are ordered separately. The large and small powder bar are standard equipment and are included with every reloader.

Hey Dillon the XL_650 May 2007 manual is also confusing, too.  One section says small to large is at 20 grains, the next section says 10.

I think you fail to understand that powder bars dispense powder by volume and not weight.

For 223 should I use the large or small bar

I use large. My average grain weight is around 24 for most powders. The large bar is 20 grains and up to 50 grains.

I meant to say 10 grains to 50 depending on the powder.
