Speed of 550B Vs Square Deal
Quote from Reloader on March 9, 2014, 2:26 pmI have both the SDB and the. 550 both are great machines. I have read where the 550 is faster I don't see how unless that is with Casefeeder does anyone actually have a take on this? I have never timed them against one another I guess I could but that depends on lot of variables just wondering real world. Just a thought either can do 300 plus a hour so it really doesn't matter just wondering where info came from and how accurate it really is
Rocky thanks

Quote from Reloader on March 11, 2014, 4:29 pmThe primary reason the 550B is faster is that the large frame provides more room for your hands to feed in brass and bullets.

Quote from Reloader on March 11, 2014, 11:09 pm550 before case feeder; 500+ rounds an hour after install of case feeder 800+ rounds an hour. Of course, that was/is with primer tubes filled before session begins.

It took me about a thousand rounds to retrain my right hand after I got the casing feeder. I pressed out around 10,000 rounds without a casing feeder and using the machine developed muscle memory, lol.
Another reason for the 550b is the larger variety of calibers (both range and then pistol and rifle), and being able to use standard dies. I actually like the manual indexing with the 550b because things don't always go perfect and it is a lot easier/quicker to fix issues, at least to me.
