spent primmers
Quote from Reloader on November 16, 2007, 3:43 amI have the same problem, makes for a big mess. The last time I reloaded 3500 rounds, well now the wife won't let me use the kitchen any more, she still finds a spent primmer now and then.

Quote from Reloader on January 1, 2008, 1:31 amI've owned a 550 for 14 yrs and been dropping spent primers all over the garage floor for 7 or 8 yrs. Thought it was just me until last night when I read this forum. Went out and cut up a paper clip and used it instead of the thin cotter key I was using. Guess what? All my spent primers go into their little cup like they're suppose to. And I've been cleaning up primers for 7-8 yrs. Now have more time to reload. I loaded up some 380 on my old single stage today.... talk about spoiled on the 550.

Quote from Reloader on January 2, 2008, 1:35 pmTruthfully I don't think their is any answer to this problem. I don't see the point in changing the cotter pin because my catcher works freely and I keep it clean. The only thing that seems to work is if you pull the handle down slowly, but when you get cranking a good number of primers start going in different directions.

Quote from Reloader on January 7, 2008, 3:25 pmJust finished loading 2000 rds of .45 ACP and only had two primers and one anvil on the floor. The following link shows the chute just opening on the way down and my mod to the cup.
