spilling powder
Quote from Reloader on May 31, 2013, 12:54 amI bought a 550B over 20 years ago and it has been an excellent machine. About 6 months ago my powder measure began acting up and the folks at Dillon replaced it at no charge. So far so good. Excellent customer service. One problem with this measure is that it has begun to spill powder, particularly stick power like 4350. Before I send it back, I wondered if anyone else had this issue and if there was a fix.

Quote from Reloader on May 31, 2013, 6:55 pmIf the powder is spilling when you lift the handle up, then it is most likely that the powder is bridging in the funnel, and being shook loose when the case is withdrawn. Try operating the handle more slowly on the downstroke, so the powder has more time to fall through the funnel. We don't recommend extruded powders for use on calibers smaller than .30" , as the interior of the funnel is small enough to inhibit the flow of extruded powder through it.
