spring return powder bar

I have 2 of the older style powder bar setup with the spring return, has anyone wore these out to the point that they start letting powder out between the spacer and the powder bar itself?

And does the new style without the springs wear less?
I'm curious to see if it is worth updating to the new style.

I upgraded my old style to new style just so all my setups were the same. Never heard of those springs wearing out. I have heard of one getting lost and going to ACE to purchase new one, to keep loading that day.

There is a lot of discussion about old versus new. The idea behind the new style was the safety feature of helping to prevent a double drop of powder.

I have had the springs break, not wear out. The springs put slight upward
pressure on powder bar against the spacer bar. And over the years the coatings on the bars have wore off and began wearing the bar itself to wear I'm getting powder some working out between the bars.
