Station 1
Quote from Reloader on December 19, 2011, 1:50 amI'm working on putting together my XL650. I'm at the point of setting up station 1. I was having a problem with the cases not getting fully inserted into the shell plate (.45 ACP). about 75% of the time the case did not get inserted all the way into the shell plate, then being misaligned for the sizing die. I spent a good part of the day messing with the camming pin adjustment, I was sure that was the problem. Then I noticed when the shell plate platform was lowered, it would hit the ejected cartridge chute and not lower all the way down, or push the case all the way into the shell plate reliably. The only way I could get it to work was to mount the chute between the press and the strong mount. Both the manual and video show the chute mounted on top of the press. It's working now, but I want to make sure something else might have been a the problem and I'm going to have something else not line up.
4 more stations to go....
