station 1, spring or no?

Hello: I'm doing the conversion from .45ACP to .223. I noticed my .45 ST1L has an inset drilled out on the bottom for a spring. The ST1L for .223 does not. Is this correct or is that a defect? Was thinking it could make a difference for ST1L getting shells aligned into shellplate.

No spring. The spring was discontinued very early into the 650 production, as it caused too many problems. Just smear a bit of grease on the underside of the station 1 locator to dampen any vibrations.
