Station 2 damages brass
Quote from Reloader on May 18, 2010, 10:00 pmHi i have a new 550B its my first Btw, Im having some issues at station #2 my brass is getting damaged there sometimes, for example out of 50 rds I load I get 5-10 brass (used brass) damaged at station #2. I did noticed that when it happens the brass is going up on a slight angle, its not going up straight.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks ..

Hello,I;ve had this problem if my shell plate is not tight!?If it is tight the brand of brass might be the problem. On my 38s the shell plate had to be reduced in thickness from the bottom "By figure eighting on a sheet of emery cloth".Clean is always good to!Build up under the shell plate can also be a problem. If the brass rocks to much in the machine the powder funnel will crush the brass!!!
Hope I helped,Youre fellow reloader Arroyokid

Quote from Reloader on July 8, 2010, 6:52 pmI've had this problem recently and finally discovered that the PMC primers I started using were not seating correctly and if they're not fully seated they will be at a slight angle at the following stations. When it gets to station 2 the case goes up and it gets crimped by the case expander leaving a damaged area on the lip of the case.
It took me quite awhile to find the problem and now I'm having problems with these primers not seating deep enough to let the cases be advanced. So far, I'm blaming this on these PMC primers as I never had any kind of problem with the Winchester primers I used for the previous four years.
I'm going to go back to the Winchesters and I'll post again when I know if the brand of primers are the problem.
Hope this helps.
