Sticking cases in Size-decap (.40 SW)
Quote from Reloader on December 27, 2016, 3:50 amI just switched my 650 from doing over 1,000 rounds of 9mm to my brand new .40 setup. New Dillon carbide dies, new quick change, etc.
Unfortunately I keep getting cases stuck in the resize-decap die and it's driving me nuts.
If I apply a bunch of lube it doesn't seem to happen, but straight neck pistol cases and carbide dies shouldn't need lube.
I've also noticed, when I don't have a stuck case, that the next (priming) station has issues as well. The cases sometimes slip out of the case plate and the primer isn't fully seated...
Could there be a problem with the case plate in general not grabbing the cases properly at all stations?
I've torn down and reassembled almost everything and it all appears to be fine, properly adjusted, etc.
Any thoughts?

There is a spring-loaded finger at station 2 which requires adjustment for different diameter cases. See Figures 194 & 195 on page 39 of the machine manual.

Plate is marked "1" - .45 ACP
The locator buttons are marked "3" - 9mm, etc.
The conversion kit was mislabeled. 🙁

The new spray lubes wax based, work great. Don't be stingy with the lube. It doesn't cost that much, and your machine will be much happier.
